Sevilla

Saturday, May 18th, we went on a day trip to Sevilla, Spain. We had a wonderful tour guide named Juan. One of the first places we went was so cool because it was where Game of Thrones filmed a few of there scenes. It was the caves under the Red Keep where the dragons were kept.

Sábado, 18 de mayo, fuimos en una excursión de Sevilla, España. Tuvimos un maravilloso guía turístico llamado Juan. Uno de los primeros lugares que fuimos fue mucho interesante porque Juego de Tronos filmó algunas de sus escenas allí. Eran al cuevas debajo del rojo mantener donde los dragones se mantuvieron.

After we saw where they filmed Game of Thrones, we went to the Santa Maria de la Sede Sevilla, which is a Roman Catholic Cathedral in Sevilla. The Cathedral has a very distinct gothic architecture, which was common for the time it was built. An interesting fact about the Cathedral that is not known by many, is that Christopher Columbus is actually buried here.

Después de que vimos donde filmó Juego de Tronos, fuimos a Santa Maria de la Sede Sevilla, Una Catedral Católica Romana en Sevilla. La Catedral tiene una arquitectura gótica muy distinta, que era común durante el tiempo que fue construido. Un facto interesante sobre la Catedral que no es conocido por muchos es que Cristóbal Columbus está enterrado aquí.

We then walked over to the King's Palace, Royal Alcázar de Sevilla. This was the most beautiful place I have ever been. Game of Thrones filmed a scene here as well in the throne room. In the palace, there are about 6 peacocks roaming around freely. The oldest part of the palace are the walls. While the palace was being built, the king, who was Catholic, decided to incorporate Muslim architecture because he loved it. He was respected by both Religions and he respected both Religions as well. This is so important for a king to have respect for his people and their Religion.

Luego, caminamos al Palacio del Rey, Royal Alcázar de Sevilla. Fue el lugar más hermoso que he sido. Juego de Tronos filmó una escena aquí también en el cuarto del Trono. En el Palacio, hay alrededor 6 pavos reales caminando por libremente. La parte más antigua del Palacio son los muros. Mientras se construía el Palacio, el rey Católica incorporó arquitectura Musulmana porque le encantaba. Fue respetado por los dos Religiones y los dos Religiones le respetaban también. Esto es tan importante para el rey tiene respeto por su pueblo y sus Religiones.

I especially loved the flowers in the palace. They are bright purple with many flowers per each plant. They are called the Jacaranda plants.

Me encantaron las flores en el Palacio. Son de color morado con muchos flores a cada planta. Se llama las plantas de Jacaranda.
