Los Patios de Córdoba

Here in Spain, the patios are a bit different than they are in America. The typical American patio is in the backyard. There may be furniture like a table, couch and chairs. In Spain, the patio is located in the center of the house and is open on the top allowing copious amounts of sunlight in. It is filled with flowers, plants and sometimes animals such as birds. They are so beautiful! There is a patio festival throughout May which is also a contest here in Córdoba. This allows the culture to be preserved and gives people something to work for each year.
